I thought I would talk today a little about the ammo shortage in America right now.

This shortage has left a lot of people with questions about why this is happening, and wondering what's next in the world of guns.

The common thread to the people asking these questions is: Is the Obama administration responsible for the shortage of guns and ammo on the market today?

It's no secret that Obama is anti-gun. He has filled his administration with anti-gunners of all stripes, from those that would support an outright ban on all weapons, to those moderates like himself who believe there should be "reasonable" restrictions on the usage and availability of guns.

The NRA was the first to sound the alarm on the administration's anti-gun sentiment, and has spurred its members into action, advising us all to "Beat the ban", and I believe that this was the main cause of the gun / ammo shortage.

The NRA has over 5 million members at last count, and these 5 million people influence at least 3 to four people a piece, because as NRA members, we are very outspoken about our views on liberty and the right to keep and bear arms. As such, we are influencing at least 15 to 20 million Americans about what is happening to our gun rights.

A quick check of the guns and ammo sites on the internet (cabela's, cheaper than dirt, midway, etc) will show you that the amount of ammo is limited, and limited to the stuff no one wants (IE Wolf ammo). This ammo shortage is not just limited to handgun and rifle ammo, but even to the meager .22 round. You will not be able to find much, if any .22 ammo even in the stores. It was the last ammo for long guns (save shotgun ammo, which incidentally IS still plentiful) that was doomed for shortages, but in short supply it is. Simply put, if you don't have ammo for your weapons at this point, you are in a world of hurt. I believe that the main cause of the .22 ammo shortage has been the result of the dip in availability of other calibers of ammo, handgun / rifle ammo. Another quick look at the main ammo sites I used to frequent tells me that all of the .22 Conversion kits, that is, a kit that will allow a larger caliber gun to fire the .22 rimfire cartridge, are sold out or backordered. Look for yourself. With everyone and their dogs thinking that .22 would never sell out like the rest of the calibers they regularly fire, the conversion kits have flown off the shelves. This is a direct cause and effect relationship to the amount of .22 ammo available for use. The stuff that is out there has seen at least a 100% spike in price. For example, a 525 round brick of Remington Golden Bullet used to sell for about 16 dollars, give or take a few bucks either way. Now, you'll be lucky to find any, and if you do, you're now looking at about a 35 dollar price tag. Don't believe me? Again, just look for yourself.

Those who have ammo at this point, I suggest taking fewer trips to the range, and conserving what you have. I recommend curbing all range activity until the ammo supply is replenished, if it ever is. I think there is a storm coming, and the powers that be (PTB) are simply waiting for us to use up our remaining supply of ammo before they launch their greatest offensive, a martial law scenario right out of The Siege.

Be prepared, my fellow Americans. Do not be fooled. The ammo supply problem is not fixing itself and it is nearly 5 months on now that this has been happening. I have been to the range all of twice in those months, when before a trip to the range bi-weekly or so was the norm. I will not be practicing, which I'm sure is exactly what the PTB are hoping for, so that when they do launch this offensive against the American people, we will be unprepared and out of practice, or simply without ammo altogether, because we blew it all off and have nothing left, because there is nothing left.

Conserving ammo no longer means getting a .22 conversion kit and using that instead. I am talking now about stashing what you have, pooling what you have with friends, and forming your own militias to defend what you have. The storm is on the horizon, my friends.
